The Imperial College Clinical Research Fellow Program 2025 seeks medical experts interested in neurological science research. This program offers a chance to work on advanced clinical neuroscience projects at Imperial College London.

Program Overview

Imperial College London, working with the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), is offering a Clinical Research Fellowship. This program aims to push forward creative research into using EEG analysis in real time to spot delirium and non-convulsive status epilepticus (NCSE) in hospitals.

The fellow will join a research group managed by Dr. Gregory Scott. They will help create a neurophysiological monitoring tool for use at the bedside, which could greatly improve hospital care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct prospective clinical research with hospitalized patients.
  • Perform EEG recordings (including using consumer-grade EEG devices).
  • Carry out cognitive and behavior tests, and collect blood samples for biomarkers.
  • Analyze neurophysiological data to support diagnostic algorithms.
  • Collaborate with machine learning experts, clinicians, and engineers.
  • Assist with the lab's neurocritical care research projects.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should have:

  • Experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of EEG data collection and analysis (preferred).
  • Knowledge of research ethics and Good Clinical Practice is needed.
  • Good communication and project management skills.
  • A proactive approach to research and the ability to work well in a team.
  • An MBBS degree (or its equivalent) and registration with the GMC.
