  • Health: Must be in good physical and mental condition. Foreigner Physical Examination Form is a required document.
  • Age Limitations:
    • Undergraduate Programs: You must be under 25 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (12 years of study, e.g., FA-FSc/A-levels).
    • Master's Programs: Applicants must be under 35 years old and have a Bachelor's degree (16 years of study).

  • Academic Background: The applicant must have exceptional academic performance and meet the entrance standards of the applied university.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Chinese-taught programs require an HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) certificate (e.g., HSK Level 4 for Bachelor's, HSK Level 5 for Master's, and HSK Level 6 for PhD). Some programs may need a one-year Chinese language preparatory course if competency is not achieved.
    • English-taught Programs: Applicants whose first language is not English are typically required to show an IELTS score (6.0 or higher) or a TOEFL score (80 or higher). Many colleges will also accept an English Proficiency Certificate from their former institution (which must state that English was the language of instruction).
  • Other Scholarships: You must not be receiving any other scholarship from the Chinese government or another institution.
  • HEC Requirement (for Type A embassy applications): A valid HAT (Higher Education Aptitude Test) or USAT (Undergraduate Studies Admission Test) score is frequently required for Pakistani citizens who apply through the Higher Education Commission (HEC) as part of the "Bilateral Program" (Type A). These tests normally need a minimum score of 50 out of 100 from applicants.
