The Wenner-Gren Foundation is offering Dissertation Fieldwork Grants to help students with their doctoral or research dissertations. This award program funds research leading to doctorates or theses that further our understanding of anthropology. To deepen our understanding of what it is to be human, we want to encourage dynamic and vital work. Any approach, study location, subject, or subfield is accepted.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must currently be enrolled in a PhD program.
• Applicants may be of any nationality.
• Applicants must have a dissertation supervisor at the same university.
• To be eligible for the grant, applicants must meet all of the PhD degree requirements.

Value of the Grant

The winning candidates receive a reward of up to USD 25,000.

• Applicants are required to submit a CV.
• General information on the applicant, supervisor, and project must be provided.
• Applicants must submit an abstract for their proposed research.
• Applicants must provide a detailed budget outlining the best and worst-case scenarios for their research plan.
• A bibliography relevant to the proposed project must be submitted.
• If we refused your previous Dissertation Fieldwork Grant application, please submit a resubmission statement.
• Answers to six project-related questions.
