If you're a student from Pakistan hoping to get a PhD in the United States, the US–Pakistan Knowledge Corridor (UPKC) PhD Scholarship for 2026 may be a chance for you. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan started this program to financially support Pakistani students attending leading U.S. universities.

Objectives of the Program

• Allow as many as 10,000 Pakistani scholars to study for PhDs at leading U.S. universities.
• Grow Pakistan’s economy through knowledge and education.
• Improve research and new ideas in important areas of national growth.
• Develop a skilled faculty base for Pakistan’s higher education institutions.

Overview of the Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

For the 2026 admissions cycle, applicants must meet the listed criteria:

• Citizenship must be Pakistani or AJK national.
• Candidates must have a Master's degree or its equivalent, which is 18 years of formal education.
• Grade averages must be at least 3.0 out of 4.0, or its equivalent.
• Regular applicants must be younger than 40 years old.
• A current HAT/GRE (General) score is needed.
• Applicants cannot hold dual nationality.
